As of July 2007, the EMRHL is running only 19 and older men's adult leagues. At some time in the future we may add a youth league and a Co-Ed league or Womens division, but for right now, it is a men's 19 and over league.

The league that started back in 1998 on an old beat up outdoor tennis court, and played their first official game in 1999, has expanded from 4 to 16 teams and now plays at one of the most well known hockey facilities on north shore, Hockeytown USA in Saugus, Massachusetts.

Once made up of mainly local players from Beverly, Mass., the league is now made up of players from all over Massachusetts and parts of New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine.

But despite the growth of the league, the EMRHL has focused on what has continued to make this a successful league, the quality of the players.

It's not talent, but attitude that has kept this league running for 4 years. The league is made up of all different skill levels, from players with many years of organized experience, to the recreational skater. A pre-season draft and mid-season trades are some of the steps the EMRHL takes to strive for league parity.

The league also runs intra league Olympic Tournaments and NHL style Skills competitions from time to time.

For one night, players on the same league team may go head to head in a Saturday night tournament. Check the main EMRHL.com page for the tournament dates.
