With sub Eric Koz leading the way with a boat load of goals and assists, the relatively unknown Guitar Heroes team needed five third period tallies to finally put away the Gears of War. Rob Downie is no John Houlihan, we found that out. And Dy Sok, despite his gynormous package, still has trouble turning at high rates of speed. The Guitar Heroes sent out the Kid Line to start the game. Sophomore EMRHL'er Mark Younkers would host a line with 3 rookies, Mark Dobrinski, Sean Sullivan, and Jordan Smith. The GH 2nd line of Gardner, McGonagle, Ryan Rizzo, and sub Koz would click immediately. After getting shutout in his game, Eric Koz was on fire. He figured in the first 3 Guitar Hero goals and finished with six points. Sully and Dobrinski would represent the Kid Line nicely, making the score 5-3 green team in the 2nd. Spuglio and the Gears of War team managed to cut the lead to 5-4, though it felt like the Guitar Heroes were ahead by alot more. The reason: Chris Spencer. Just about every shot the Gears took found it's way past Spence. "My favorite was the dump in from center," said Gardner. "Not many goalies would have let that one in." Third period goals by Dennis, Gardner, Rizzo, and Dobrinski would put the Heroes up 12-6 with just under two minutes left. There was thoughts of pulling Spencer for the final two minutes so he wouldn't have a chance to blow it. "I think we need to leave him in and hope for the best," said Ryan Rizzo. "It may give him some confidence. Something he really needs."
