The asterisk captain got his first win this season, as he had a pair of goals to counter Hurcombe's two giveaways in a 7-4 win over Rainbow Six... How funny was this, the score was 3-2 at one point, and Hurcombe had figured in all five goals. "I don't get it," said Hurcombe. Moose 2.0 opened the scoring with an early tally, then Armstrong made it 2-0 as Frosty struggled to get in the groove. John Sewie tried to rally his offensively challenged team again this week, as he got the Rainbows on the board before the first period ended. The Rainbows fired 15 shots on Rob McHugh in the 2nd, but only managed to get one by him. Frosty only saw 12 shots, and he gave up one goal too, setting up what could have been a great third period. Instead it was sub Mike Gaff who scored a pair, and that ultimately buried the Rainbows. "We were fine once Hurcombe figured out which team he was playing for," said Armstrong. Both Moose 2.0 and Koz scored meaningless third period goals, while Lyle Carnahan tried to decapitate Dan Armstrong with a hook to Dan's neck. "My stick was waist high," explained Lyle. "I didn't realize he was that short."
Dan was fine, and like Paul Pierce, he
finished the game. |
