What a way to end the night. There were goals, goals, goals galore in the third period. Then there were saves, saves, saves by Chris Spencer, as he kept T-Bone in the game. Toss in a goal by Shane on his knees and well, you get the picture. It started as a miss match with the Hind Shanks grabbing a 4-1 lead after one period, though it felt more like 14-1. The lead ballooned like Shane's midsection at the Kowloon, as the Shanks took a 6-2 lead into 2nd recess. It was about that time that Spencah gave up, but was still making unbelievable saves. In the third goals by Billy One Arm, and Zuke had pulled the T-Bone's to within two goals, and this somehow was still a game. The teams would keep trading goals, though the Shanks seemed to be outshooting the T-Bones by a ratio of 5:1. "Everything they shot went in on Brown," said Dennis. "I kind of felt bad for him. I guess that's what happens when you're not playing full time." When Dennis scored with 2:00 left to put the Shanks up 9-7, that seemed to be it. But once again it was a soft goal on Brown that pulled the T-Bones to within a goal at 9-8 with plenty of time left. It took a length of the court open net goal by Gardner with 11 seconds left to finally seal the game. "I knew Jeff 'the one week wonder' Katz wasn't going to score it, that's for sure," said Gardner. "It may be time to trade some of the dead weight on this team." Dat Mai suited up for the Hind Shanks, it was his first game in the EMRHL since winning the Saturday Title with the Cubs.
